With the cool kids
I scored some hot pink and black Converse Chuck Taylors at TJ Maxx yesterday on the clearance racks. I have always wanted a pair, ever since I was a kid. I wasn’t allowed to have them back then – but I can have them now!
They make me smile. :-) I feel like I could hang with all the cool kids now! Woot.
(nevermind the schmutz on the shoe, it’s been raining so hard here and all the oak tree buds are all over the sidewalks)

Chaos Twins GaGa for GoGos
The Chaos Twins were recently asked if they would like to host a party for a fun collection called “gogos CRAZY BONES” and they said “well, we’ve never heard of them, but okay!”
A giant box arrived and the kids got so excited to see this new toy. We had to wait until we were able to share with all of our friends, but when the day arrived, this little video shows the chaos and fun that ensued:
What exactly is a gogo’s CRAZY BONES, anyway?
Gogo's are small colorful characters that come in hundreds of colors and designs, each one with a unique name, design, personality and special ability. Think pokemon crossed with marbles and jacks and you’re on the right track. Gogo’s were, in fact, inspired by those games of old. The players are different (characters instead of bouncy balls, marble collections and pointy metal jack) but the rules are pretty much the same. Check out the Gogo’s website for the rules of all the games – but Moms and Dads, if you’ve played marbles or jacks, you can play/explain the rules of Gogo’s games.
Days after the party, the kids are still playing with them. They are even sleeping with them in plastic buckets lest the other Chaos Twin wake in the middle of the night and try to abscond with them. Every morning we play “Hide-n-Gogo” for hours on end. Hide-n-Gogo is basically an Easter Egg hunt, but with Gogos. I’m actually thinking of hiding new Gogo’s all over the house (or yard, stupid midwest weather depending) instead of the traditional plastic eggs. Or maybe put Gogos inside our eggs, that’s probably smarter.
There are over 80 different characters, each in 5 different colors. Add in a few special characters here and there, and a set of “Most Wanted Gogos” and you’ve got a pretty big collection. The guys shown up there are the 5 most wanted. They’re rare, apparently. We have the middle guy and he’s been named “Cap’n Gogo” by SpacePirate and is his most favorite Gogo. He tucks Cap’n Gogo in his pocket whenever we leave the house. ![]()
I even have a favorite Gogo, because his special ability is close to my heart. He has the special ability to CONTROL THE WEATHER! How awesome is that?! His name is temp and he’s a little goofball.
The happy little green guy below is LittleMiss’ favorite. He’s called “Smiley Kitty Gogobone” here – but his real name is Mosh. He’s the friendliest Gogo and everyone wants to be his pal.
I have even read that the Gogo’s creators have given the greenlight to an animated TV series with these little guys. There has only been a press release on this news, no previews or anything – so I do hope that they keep the violence out as much as possible. ![]()
Anyway, Gogo’s CRAZY BONES come very highly recommended by both Chaos Twins, Mommy and Daddy. We all really like them and plan to get more as special behavior rewards and such. We all really do enjoy playing with them. I have found that they are sold in the stores where the trading cards are sold, so be sure to check there. A whole new series of Gogos comes out in May, too!![]()

Disclosure: the Chaos Twins were provided with a box of Gogos by ChildsPlayParty and Gogos to share with our friends at a party to learn all about these new toys. No further compensation was received and all opinions are our own. :-) Thanks Gogos and ChildsPlay!

Tie-dye Mickey & Minnie Mouse Shirts
I have never once in my life done tie-dye, but I came across this concept somewhere and knew I wanted to try it so we can be THAT family on our “The Chaos Twins don’t know yet” trip to Walt Disney World coming up.
The process was pretty easy and lots of fun. I came up with a way to add the bow for Minnie Mouse, which I think is pretty awesome.
I have learned a few things as well:
- I needed to make my rubber banded sections wider and tighter to prevent the Mickey head color from bleeding
- I needed to use more dye and poke that bottle into the folds and such
- everyone loves them, even Xiris who is hard to impress with my “crafty crap” :-)
I am thinking of doing them again in the near future with other shapes in the middle, I could write up a tutorial if y’all are interested.

Review: Manhattan Toys Boysterous Action Figures, Extreme Sports Zone
The Chaos Twins recently received a really great new toy from Manhattan Toys. This new line is called Boysterous, an exciting line of sports action figures for boys. Boysterous includes five sports themed action figures, as well as a carry-along Extreme Sports Zone, in which stores and totes the action figures. We recieved Boysterous Boy Slope Shreddin Sean and Boysterous Boy Goalie Gavin. Both action figures have bendable, movable arms and leg. Their hands and feet are magnetic, too. We found this great because the boys can play the different sports between each other. Gavin comes with a magnetized soccer ball, and Sean comes with a metal snowboard. We also received the Extreme Sports Zone to use with our action figures. This handy tote is also an all-in-one sports zone for use with the action figures. The tote zips up, folds up, has velcro closures and a sturdy handle.
The Twins like to lay it out flat for a soccer match and then later flip it and do a couple of zips to turn it into a nifty halfpipe for snowboarding.

SpacePirate and LittleMiss really love this toy equally. Sure it’s a toy mainly for boys, but LittleMiss really loves sports and exercising, so she was instantly in love with it. They fight over the Sean action figure because they think he looks so much like Daddy (who is a snowboarder). Toy action figures are sturdy and handle the roughness that the Chaos Twins can put forth.
As a Mommy, I really like to sports zone and the action figures because they are good wholesome toys for boys. I tire of having to sensor the toys my little boy can play with because they are so violent. I am also enamored for the self-contained easy cleanup. A couple of zips, a tuck of the boys inside and we’re good to go. We’ve brought the zone around with us to a few different places and it holds up really well and keeps the kids entertained.
I’d like to see a few girls added to the line of action figures in the future, for our sportsminded little girl to play with, but she doesn’t really care. We play soccer all day with our two Boysterous Boys and we’re fine with that.
Guess What? Manhattan Toy is giving one FuzzySheep & The Chaos Twins reader a Boysterous Action Figure!
