{One of those weird things about me...}

Here's one of those weird things about me...

I have a knack for recognizing voices. I often have a hard time associating the voice with a face, but I know voices. I love to figure out who the voice is on a commercial, as narrator in a movie/show, or doing the voice for animated characters.

I'm not sure why this list is floating around in my head, or why I feel compelled to share it with you - but here you go:

Wilmer Valderrama - Handy Manny, Disney Channel
Sean Astin - Special Agent Oso, Disney Channel
Keifer Sutherland - Bank of America commercials and some Apple/Intel
Stanley Tucci - AT&T commercials
Jeff Bridges - Duracell commercials
George Clooney - a few AT&T and Budweiser commercials
Janeane Garafalo - Weight Watchers commercials (the orange monster ones)
Morgan Freeman - VISA commercials
Jeff Bridges - Hyundai commercials
Hector Elizondo - Mistsubishi commercials
Tim Allen - Michigan.org Tourism commercials
William H Macy - some Curious George episodes as narrator (randomly hear them)
Alec Baldwin - Thomas the Tank narrator
George Carlin - Thomas the Tank narrator
Zach Braff - the voice of the puppy in the new Cottonelle commercials
Aaron Eckhart - Ford Fusion commercials
James Spader - Acura commercial
Queenn Latifah - Pizza Hut commercials
Christian Slater - Panasonic Shaver commercials

I know I have more in there - but the kids are bugging me, so that's it for now.

Do you have any that I missed?

Happy Times and A HUGE HINT

video

Simply, the *BEST* reason for 3 days of rain showers. Open fields, puddles and toddlers puddle-jumping for the first time ever. They had so much fun - SpacePirate mostly (such a boy), PrincessZ just entertained the idea (such a girl!)

The rest of this post is for my husband, so if you're not him - think of this as a PSA for an awesome sale, but don't buy the one I want because I don't want them to be gone. I've left other hints, and aside from just telling him this is what I want outright - this should do.

I want it to wear with my wedding band. It's the babies' stones. Mother's Day, and all. Click the picture. Use code BIGSALE for 30% off and FREE SHIPPING! Also, go through EBATES, and log-in with "our" email address and I bet you can take a few guesses at a password. 8% cash back is worth the extra step, so do it. M'Kay? Oh, SIZE 7 ! Love you babe!

{Random Photos and Thoughts}

I have a bunch of stuff to update for you guys (ACTUAL KNITTING!) - but I think I'll wait until it's completely finished. For now, here is a random smattering of pictures and thoughts. Enjoy!

My new favorite picture:
I love these three people - with all my heart and soul. I've been having a rough few weeks, between sicknesses, homefront stresses and screaming matches - I feel like I am the least important person in the world to these three knuckleheads. I'm worried about my self-esteem, health and general well-being, but I am trying to work it out.

"The Potentate of Totin' Freight" Heh. And, yes, I took that picture while driving...Hoppy Easter.What better way to brush ones' teeth?Hamster anyone?Noted while waiting in line for breakfast the other day:
A color wall. Truthfully, it was much more vibrant and fascinating in person. Legos!Speaking of Legos... and buttcheecks... and manboobs. Awesome!
Because if you're going to bite anyone... why not a minister? Knit and Crochet Out at the mall. This was the fashion show portion. Truth be told, I thought it was all kinda lame. The lighting was horrible and there wasn't anything interesting to see at the 3 vendors that were there. Maybe I was just grumpy because I didn't have my knitting with me, and I couldn't spend the day there like I had wanted because my DH was sick and miserable and just wanted to nap all day and I didn't get to leave the house until almost 2pm when I had showered and dressed before 9am. I just want to know how come when I am sick I have to suck it up and deal with kids/cleaning/life with no mid-day naps or time off of work. Sucks. Hurts. Being sick and not being able to sleep or rest in any way does not help one get better sooner rather than later. And honestly, the amount of barf and poop I have had to clean up off of kids, floors, couches, myself in the last 2 weeks is...well...exhausting and disgusting.Finally, the margarita I got to enjoy ON THE HOUSE at Ted's Montana Grill while waiting for my Bison Burger with swiss, mushrooms and avocado. Best burgers! So gooooooood! If you've been following my twitter, you'll have seen that things are probably changing again. Our house in the CornHole has not sold yet, and we've run out of freebie housing - so the kids and I will most likely be returning to the house in a couple of weeks. As much as we'd like to stay here with Xiris - two mortgages is not possible, and rent on a place big enough for all of use is not really feasible either. If anyone has ideas, let me know - I'd rather stay here, CornHole was not for me... Windy City is just my kinda town. And if you spare the vibes - can you send some this way so that the place will sell before I do have to go back? That would so super awesome!

Oh, and Xiris... Mother's Day is coming up. Make it happen, spoil me and be here for me. Please?

Also - Random Number Generator pulled #2 out of the hat - so BATTY, you win. I'll PM you on the boards and get your address.

On that note: wow - only 4 readers. Awesome. Great. Worthwhile. Pathetic. Oh well, it makes me happy, so I will continue! So HA!

{Book Review: Knitting the Threads of Time}

I was recently contacted by NewWorldLibrary, and asked if I would like to read and review a new knitting themed book being released.

Knitting the Threads of Time: Casting Back to the Heart of Our Craft by Nora Murphy is a lovely little read. We follow along with the author from the very beginning of a special project. From pattern and yarn choices, to casting on. Through the dark Minnesota winter, we join her as she seems vexed by the pattern, annoyed at her mistakes and finally to the last stitch. We triumph with her as she proudly gives the sweater to her young son who specifically requests it, and he loves it.

Intermingled with the authors' knitting are informative snippets about the traditions and cultures of women from many backgrounds, including Hmong, American Indian, Mexican, African, and Irish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It was quick, fun and informative. And, oddly, I have a desire to cast on for a sweater with flames worked on the sleeves.

In fact, I loved this read enough to want to share it. Leave a comment on this post and I will randomly draw Friday April 10th for a winner.
