I was recently asked to test and review products for the New Zealand based ecostore. The company is working on establishing a US presence, and have recently launched a line of GREEN, healthy products available at Meijer’s. Products range from home cleaning and laundry to baby and bath/body.

ecostore’s products are made from plant- and mineral-based ingredients, free of toxic chemicals that bring people closer to nature with non-toxic, environmentally safe solutions that also help to reduce our carbon footprint. Never animal tested, and all products are packaged in recycled materials. And because there are no nasty chemicals, babies can benefit from gentle cleaning, soothing aromas and soft skin. And moms won’t have to worry about introducing icky chemicals into the house – from cleaning to bathing. A GREAT idea, if you ask me!
I was asked to review the shampoo/conditioner line, and was thrilled at the idea! I have been having many issues with my hair as of late, and I was hoping it would help some of the problems. ecostore’s range of hair care products are an amazing fusion of science and aromatherapy. And because ecostore believes it makes good sense to reduce the number of synthetic chemicals in our lives, they use safer, healthier plant-based ingredients derived from Coconut and palm oils. These have been expertly blended with organic cider vinegar and therapeutic grade essential oils to create shampoos and conditioners that gently cleanse and condition. Being free of skin irritants such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and synthetic preservatives such as parabens means that they can be safely used on even the most sensitive scalp.
I chose the vanilla shampoo and conditioner. It’s formulated for dry/damaged hair and says it’s great for chemically treated hair. I don’t do much to my hair other than wash once a week and maybe blow dry in the winter, but my hair is a mess. So I gave it a try. It took a bit to get used to because it doesn’t foam up, and at first I was using entirely too much product and it felt as is I would never be able to rinse it all out! After reading the website closer, I had to remember that the products are pretty concentrated, so just a little goes a long long way. I have used the entire bottles already, and I will be placing an order for more very soon.
